Jeffrey P Thayer (WSBA No. 33921 admitted 2003) of Salem, OR, was suspended for 30 days, effective 3/20/2024, with the entire suspension stayed based on their successful completion of the one-year term of probation in Oregon, by order of the Washington Supreme Court imposing reciprocal discipline in accordance with an order of the Supreme Court of the State of Oregon. Reprimanded
John Phillip Abramsย (WSBA No. 31068 admitted 2001) of Lacey, was reprimanded, effective 1/06/2025, by order of the hearing officer. Sachia Stonefeld Powell acted as disciplinary counsel. Kevin M. The lawyerโs conduct violated the following Rules of Professional Conduct: 1.5 (Fees), 1.15A (Safeguarding Property), and 7.1 (Communications Concerning a Lawyer’s Services).
Abrams stipulated to reprimand for failing to deposit advance fees into his trust account, failing to include a provision in the fee agreement that the client may be entitled to a refund of a portion of the fee if the agreed upon legal services were not completed, and including statements on the firmโs website that omitted facts necessary to make the statements considered as a whole not materially misleading.
